Oshawa is the largest city in Durham Region, with roughly 175,000 people and a housing stock that spans more than a century. Downtown and O'Neill are full of heritage homes from the mid-1800s through the early 1900s. McLaughlin, Pinecrest and the streets south of the 401 are largely postwar bungalows and war-era cottages. North of Taunton it turns into newer subdivisions.

That mix matters for junk removal, because older houses have full basements, attics, crawl spaces and detached garages that quietly fill up over decades. North Oshawa has Ontario Tech University and Durham College sharing a campus, with something like 40,000 students and staff between them. That means a real turnover every spring: mattresses, desks, couches, and whatever the last tenant decided not to take with them.
